Get the shot.
We’ll help with the rest.

Pair your Osmo Pocket, watch the HEVC feed, and set up the monitor. Connection, scopes, and common issues are below.

Connect your Osmo Pocket.

On first launch, OpenPocketCine walks through Bluetooth pairing, the camera Wi-Fi join, and the datalink handshake.

First pair

  1. ScanPower on the Pocket and tap Scan. Allow Bluetooth when iOS asks.
  2. Approve on the cameraAccept the pairing prompt on the Pocket screen if it appears.
  3. Join camera Wi-FiiOS will offer the camera’s SoftAP. Join it. Allow Local Network when asked.
  4. Live viewThe datalink comes up and HEVC live view starts. The camera is then saved for next time.

Returning to set

Saved cameras appear on the home screen. Tap one to reconnect, or use Pair new camera. You can rename or remove a saved camera.

The Wi-Fi password is stored in the iOS Keychain on this phone only.

See the feed. Judge the image.

After connection, OpenPocketCine opens the monitor when the first readable HEVC frame arrives.

What you see

  • REC / STBY, timecode, format, color mode, storage, and FPS with link bars.
  • ISO, shutter, white balance, focus, mode, and audio as live readouts.
  • Phone and camera battery on the leading rail.
  • DISP cycles chrome. Lock prevents accidental taps.

What stays on the body

  • Start and stop recording from the camera until remote roll is proven.
  • Do not treat the on-screen REC button as armed until a release says it is.
  • Keep Screen Awake lives in Settings.

Build the monitor you need.

Tap an assist to toggle it. Long-press a tool to open its configuration. These run on the phone GPU — they do not change the file on the camera.

Exposure & color

Waveform, RGB parade, histogram, vectorscope, false color, zebras, and Traffic Lights.

Focus

Focus peaking with adjustable sensitivity and color.

Framing

Aspect guides, grids, and a crosshair. Pocket has no anamorphic de-squeeze.

LUT preview

Built-in D-Log / D-Log 2 Rec.709 looks, plus imported .cube files.

Mirror

Flip the monitor image when the phone is on a cage facing you.

Audio meters

Local meters drawn from the camera’s live audio status.

Tune OpenPocketCine for the operator.

Link

Check connection phase, disconnect, or return to saved cameras.

View Assist

Configure tools and arrange the assist toolbar for the current job.

Display

Keep the screen awake. Cycle DISP for a cleaner image.

System

App version, licenses, NOTICE, privacy, and terms.

Start with the signal closest to the problem.

The camera does not appear

Power the Pocket on, stay close, and allow Bluetooth. If you previously paired with Mimo or another install, remove the old pairing on the camera and try again.

Wi-Fi join never finishes

Approve the iOS Join prompt for the camera’s SoftAP. If iOS stays on cellular, forget the network and retry. Local Network permission is required for the datalink.

Live view stalls or never starts

Move closer to the camera, confirm you are on the camera Wi-Fi, and reconnect. The monitor needs a first HEVC frame before chrome is useful.

A setting will not change

Some writes are still reverse-engineered and can ACK, lag, or no-op. Confirm record, exposure, and media on the Pocket body. Do not treat the on-screen REC control as armed until you trust that build.

Android

Android is in progress. iPhone and iPad are the supported platforms today.
